SCDIT is seeking a skilled System Engineer to support Government Financial & Resource Management on a critical central data repository system. You will play a key role in maintaining, upgrading, and optimizing the system's performance while ensuring data integrity and security.
Responsibilities:
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the central data repository system and its components.
- Perform server management tasks including setup, configuration, and maintenance.
- Conduct system upgrades and patches to ensure system stability and security.
- Manage certificates, ciphers, and SSL configurations to maintain secure data transmission.
- Utilize SQL queries to retrieve and analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and optimize system performance.
- Investigate and analyze custom Java transformations within the system.
- Deconstruct APIs and utilize Swagger pages to understand and integrate with system functionalities.
- Monitor system logs for errors and performance issues; troubleshoot and resolve issues as they arise.
- Conduct day-to-day system checks and maintenance tasks to ensure system availability.
- Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to address system issues and enhance system capabilities.
- Provide technical support and guidance to users and stakeholders as needed.
Desired Skills:
- Ability to read and understand Java code for troubleshooting and customization purposes.
- Experience in managing SSL certificates, ciphers, and security protocols.
Role Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline and fourteen (14) years of experience as an SE. Nineteen (19) years of SE experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
- Strong understanding of Unix/Linux environments and command-line utilities.
- Familiarity with data manipulation techniques and tools.
- Experience in application monitoring and performance tuning.
- Knowledge of server management principles and practices.
- Willingness to learn and develop strong understanding new technologies and products
- Must be able to work during core hours of 10:00am-2:00pm. Exceptions will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Required Clearance: Candidate must have a TS/SCI polygraph clearance
