Splunk Engineer

SCDIT are seeking a skilled Splunk Engineer (Level 2) with a strong background in Systems Engineering to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in analyzing user requirements, developing system specifications, and providing technical leadership for integration efforts. This role involves managing system requirements and contributing to systems engineering documentation.

Responsibilities:
  • Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications.
  • Lead design and development activities, guiding users in formulating requirements and advising on alternative approaches.
  • Provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology.
  • Incorporate new plans, designs, and systems into ongoing operations.
  • Develop technical documentation, system architecture, and system design documentation.

Additional Requirements:
  • 7-14 years of experience as a Splunk Engineer or in programs of similar scope, type, and complexity.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, etc.
  • Experience pulling data from tools via RestAPI.
  • Familiarity with Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and Security Technical Implementation Notes (STINs).
  • Knowledge of Ansible/Puppet, Linux DevOps, Kubernetes, and Terraform highly desired.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in system engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Five (5) years of additional Systems Engineering experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree.
 
Required Clearance:  Candidate must have a TS/SCI polygraph clearance
