Low Voltage Foreman

SCD Information Technology is currently seeking a skilled Foreman for our Infrastructure Division.
Description:  The candidate selected will be the senior-most, onsite point of contact for low-voltage projects encompassing voice/data/video/security cabling. This Foreman will pull/terminate CAT5/CAT6/fiber, manage the project schedule and crew tasking, keep the site location safe and on track, and lead the crew to ensure the project schedule is on track.  The candidate will report directly to the Project Manager.
Responsibilities/Tasks:
  • Low voltage experience – possess an in-depth understanding of low voltage installation practices and procedures and be skilled enough to notice and correct the errors of the employees being supervised and trained.
  • Blueprint interpretation – must be able to read and understand blueprints and perform basic calculations to give needed direction and ensure work is being properly completed.
  • Project management – must accurately forecast how many workers are needed and how long each project phase will take. The time estimations of the Project Manager and the Foreman should align or be corrected if there is a discrepancy. Must successfully coordinate multiple tasks according to priorities and plans to keep projects on time and on budget.
  • Employee management – understand “people management”, be willing to mentor / train less-senior technicians to improve skills.
  • Communication skills – excellent written and oral communication skills. The Telecommunications Foreman must be able to interact with Customers, members of their crew and superiors. Their writing must clear and detailed for writing daily progress reports that are easy to understand.
  • Manage while working – the Telecommunications Foreman is expected to work alongside their team Foremen are typically on their feet for eight hours a day and will climb up and down ladders and carry materials.
Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of commercial low-voltage infrastructure experience
  • 4+ years’ experience leading and running large-sized projects
  • Ability to translate project requirements into an innovative execution strategy while effectively matching project assignments to resources
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to report internal and external deliverables
  • BICSI or other relevant coursework (Desired)
